Lista Dei Vini

The aim of any well-crafted wine catalogue is to make the house's collection of wines as accessible as possible to its guests.  With this in mind, we have arranged all of the wines by varietal with the region affixed.  I think you’ll find this arrangement helpful as you make a considered selection of the complete offering of a particular region.  Our members of the serving staff will be happy to assist as well.

ABRUZZO

In a nation of myriad appellations, Abruzzi offers wine drinkers refreshing simplicity. The

long-standing regionwide DOCs for Montepulciano and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo have been

complemented by an appellation for Controguerra, which takes in 12 types of wine.

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo  - Jasci

Intense ruby red, with hints of mature red fruits, jams and slight notes of cinnamon and vanilla.

Balanced and harmonious with a touch of pleasant tannins

ALTO ADIGE - TRENTINO

Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy's northernmost region, is walled in by the Rhaetian Alps and

the Dolomites, so that only about 15 percent of the region's land is cultivable and much

that is produces fruit and wine grapes. The difficulty of growing vines on steep, often

terraced hillsides compels growers to emphasize quality. About three-quarters of production

is DOC and a major share of the wine is exported.

CAMPANIA

The ancient Romans admired Campania Felix as the most felicitous of wine regions.

They favored the vineyards along the coast north of Naples where Falernian, the most

treasured wine of the empire, was grown. They also praised the wines of volcanic Vesuvius

and the wooded hills of Avellino. Even earlier, the Greeks had recognized the privileged

nature of the place, introducing vines which still stand out today in Aglianico,

Greco and Falanghina.

and high quality of the regional wine production. There are no fewer than eight controlled

Aquileia, Carso, Collio, Colli Orientali del Friuli, Friuli Grave, Friuli Latisana, Friuli-

Isonzo and Friuli Annia.

through in the final product.

LAZIO

The name of the region also survives in the tribal designation of the ancient population

of Latins, from whom the Romans originated. In Roman mythology, the shadowy king

Latinus allegedly gave his name to the region.Rome's region is intrinsically linked to

white wine, to Frascati and Marino and the other golden-hued bianchi of the Castelli

Romani, as well as to the fabled Est! Est!! Est!!! from the northern Latium town of

Montefiascone.

Est! Est!! Est!!! di Montefiascone DOC  - Falesco

The wine, straw yellow in color, is fresh and structured because of a good level of acidity. Displays fine

aromatic characteristics with floral and fruity notes.

LIGURIA

The beautiful hillside of Liguria, its privileged position along the southern flank of the

Maritime Alps and Apennines permits this region to bask in the Mediterranean

warmth. The reddish calcareous clay soil is well suited to the white grape variety,

notably for rich Pigato, along with its mild climate makes for a perfect region to grow

great vines.

PIGATO  - A Maccia

Straw yellow in color the wine shows a delicate bouquet yet vibrant, with layers of citrus and tropical fruit

with hints of herbs (anise). It is fresh, with outstanding concentration, power and refinement. Subtle but

firm, with an impressive grip as well as a lovely long finish.

MARCHE

Located in the central-east part of Italy this hilly Region is very mountainous inland

and caressed by the Mediterranean Sea along the coast. The typical Mediterranean

vegetation dominates the landscape. The vineyards laid harmoniously along the hills,

cypress and olive trees give the final touch

cherry with oak undertones.Deep purple in color. Taste clean, crisp wild cherry flavors with hints of oak

and a lasting finish

MOLISE

The often overlooked region of Molise, which was once an appendix of Abruzzi,

gained official status in wine in the 1980s with the DOCs of Biferno and Pentro di Isernia.

The undeniable aptitude for vines on the sunny hillsides between the Apennines

and the Adriatic indicates that with a little more effort Molise's wine producers could

match on a small scale the quality of their neighbors in Abruzzi, Apulia or Campania.

SANGIOVESE  - Di Majo Norante

Vivid ruby-red in color with a fresh bouquet of violets and woodland berries.

Smooth and refreshing on the palate with loads of ripe fruit.

PIEMONTE

Despite the fact that Piemonte is mostly composed by mountains, this region produces over

40% of the wine production in Italy. Here, farmers had to work very hard to accommodate the

vineyards in such challenging type of terrain. Most of Piemonte’s wine are made by indigenous

grape varietals. The complexed soil gives to the wines of Piemonte high concentration and flavors.

Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera... to name a few of the wines produced here.

tannic and tar aftertaste. Hearty and austere, but velvety.

DESSERTS

MOSCATO D’ ASTI  - Guasti

An aromatic semi-sparkling wine (about half the carbonation of a typical sparkler) with a mild level of

sweetness balanced by vibrant acidity. Sweet and simple, made from the very fragrant Muscat grapes,

MOSCATO D’ ASTI  - La Ghersa 375 ML

Delicate and fruity with peaches and green apple aromas and flavors. Medium body, off-dry, fresh finish.

Very nice indeed.

PUGLIA

Apulia, the heel of the Italian boot, is a long, relatively level region with a prolific production of

wine. In the past, the region often surpassed Sicily and Veneto in output, though Apulia's former

title of "Europe's wine cellar" no longer carries much weight. Starting in late 1980’

Apulia's producers have increasingly put the accent on premium quality with excellent results

COPERTINO RISERVA  - Cantina Cooperativa

Brick red and dense, Copertino has seductive aromatics of blackberry, spice, Maduro cigar leaf and

smoked meats. It is medium-bodied, surprisingly complex displaying well-integrated layers of leather,

wild berries, cedar, tar, vanilla and soft spices. The long finish lingers with dried cherry and port like nuances.

PRIMITIVO  - A-Mano

This deep, inky plum colored wine is a slightly softer version of a big red Zinfandel. The A-Mano has intense

cherry scents with subtle woody and pepper aromas. Its flavor is bright red berries up front followed

by a peppery, lightly tannic finish.

PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA DOC   - Ognissole

with woodsy undertones. Suggestions of wild cherry and prune Palate: Soft, consistent, with an excellent

balance of acidity and tannins. Velvety smooth. Closes with lingering sensations of cocoa and coffee.

SARDEGNA

Sardinia's history is very ancient. In 1979 human remains were found that were dated

to 150,000 BC. The island's vines tell a story of their own, frequently with a Spanish

accent. The Mediterranean stalwarts are there in the various clones of Moscato and

Malvasia, but several other varieties are unique in Italy, such as Girò, Cannonau,

Nuragus, Monica, Semidano, Torbato and Vernaccia di Oristano...

PERDERA “IGT Isola dei Nuraghi”  - Argiolas

Persistent nose of ripened fruit. On the palate the wine is round with firm tannins and a sweetish aftertaste

of the varietal. Very vibrant and rustic.

The wine has an intense ruby color with granite reflections. The bouquet is very intense and persistent,

herbaceous and delicate. It has a typical scent of dried fruits, walnut hull and prunes.

SICILIA

Sicily (Sicilia in Italian and Sicilian) is an autonomous region of Italy and the largest

island in the Mediterranean Sea, with an area of 25,708 km² (9,926 sq. miles) and five

million inhabitants. Contrasts are not the least of those things in which Sicily abounds.

Sicily has more vineyards than any other Italian region. Yet, with the emphasis shifting

from quantity to quality, wine production has diminished recently to slightly less than

that of Veneto.

It is named after Avola in the far south of Sicily and its wines are compared to New World (Australia)

Shirazes, with sweet tannins and plum or peppery flavors.

TOSCANA

...a Region where the winemaking is elevated to Art…

First the Etruscans, then the Romans, followed by the Renaissance, Tuscany holds

the oldest winemaking tradition and is universally known for his outstanding wines.
